I'm in the process of relocating to https://www.cueology.co.uk. Please ensure you've updated any links, bookmarks etc to the new address - thanks.
I am proud to lead my Junior Academy at King's Snooker Club, which started in January 2026. As Lead Coach, I aim to give young players in the Blackburn area the opportunity to develop their skills in a safe, fun environment. Fellow WPBSA coaches Annette Lord and Aamir Malik regularly assist whenever possible, so we've plenty coaching experience on hand to help all our players develop.
Our sessions cover all ability levels - everyone will feel welcome and you won't ever feel outside your comfort zone.
It's a great opportunity to improve your game and socialise with other young cue sports enthusiasts. There's coaching based on the WPBSA White to Black coaching framework, with opportunities to quickly earn certificates and medals. If you wish, you can test your skills against others each month in our regular competition, which is handicapped to make it fairer to all. There's a perpetual trophy awarded each month to the winner, and we also have a separate Coaches' Award trophy, awarded at coaches' discretion.
We regularly have fun one-off challenges or other games that are suitable for all. Ever played Snooker Tennis? Or what about Snooker Bowls? Or maybe you could make the elusive 167 break in the Golden Ball Challenge!
For safeguarding purposes, I require all participants to be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult known to the child. New players will need to register at first, but this is a quick process.
The Academy is open for three hours every Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM for all u18s, both boys and girls, and admission is just £10 per session. You don't need to book - simply turn up and play, and there's no pressure to arrive at the start or stay to the end. Sounds interesting? Come down to King's and start your journey this weekend!
